Continuing with our intern introductions, next up is Tyler Duell from Queensbury NY!

Here, Tyler shares a bit about what he’s learned during his time with us at the EDC, his career
goals, what he loves most about life in Warren County, and more…

On School and Career

Hello, my name is Tyler Duell, I am currently attending the University of Florida majoring
in Economics with a minor in Business Administration. My goal after graduation is to
work in the financial service industry, specifically in sales and trading or wealth
management at a private bank.

Outside of school and work, I enjoy staying active, whether it’s hitting the gym or
spending time on the golf course. When I’m back home in New York, I love being
outdoors, especially hiking around the lake with my dog. I also enjoy taking my family’s
boat for a cruise around Lake George or hanging out with friends and family in Sandy
Bay. At school, when I’m not working, you can find me at various sporting events or
spending time with my friends.

On Life in Warren County

I grew up in Queensbury, New York, and I feel it was a wonderful place to grow up. The
educational opportunities at Queensbury High School were excellent, and being part of
the sports teams there was a great experience. I particularly love the different seasons
in Warren County, with fall being my favorite. I enjoyed going apple picking, participating
in the various fall events, enjoying the crisp 50-degree weather, and most of all,
watching football with my family. Summers spent on Lake George in the hot August sun
were fantastic, and just a few months later, skiing down Gore Mountain around the
same area was equally thrilling.

On Economic Development in Warren County

I have been an intern at the EDC since the start of the summer, so for a few months
now. I wanted to intern here to make a positive impact on the area I’ve called home for over
18 years. This role is important to me because it allows me to contribute to the
community that has given me so much.

During my time here, I’ve worked on several projects, including research on different
housing projects and formulating presentations to advocate for more housing. I’ve also
been involved in developing new business plans for the reverse marketplace initiatives,
which has been particularly interesting.

I’ve learned much about the startup process and what goes along with it. This internship
has provided me with valuable insights into economic development and the practical
aspects of launching a new initiative. I have also learned a lot from all the great
employees of EDC and have grown significantly professionally
