The Churney Gurney recently returned to Queensbury’s Gurney Lane Mountain Bike Park after a COVID-induced hiatus in 2020. This two-day-long bike race and festival is the major fundraiser for the Under the Woods Foundation whose mission is to provide unique, creative, and adventurous experiences for children on the Autism Spectrum and other social language disorders.

It is organized by Bob Underwood and sponsored by Grey Ghost Bicycles, Town of Queensbury and North Country Subaru.

The 13 miles of trails are open year-round and vary in difficulty from tight, rocky paths to wider bench-cut trails. The trails have been built and maintained by Wilderness Property Management Inc. and are constantly being maintained and added onto yearly.

Recently, the popular mountain biking app SingleTracks ranked Gurney Lane the #1 mountain bike trail system in New York State.
