Diane Dumouchel has been appointed Director of Finance and Compliance for the Economic Development Corp. of Warren County.
Diane (pronounced Dee-ann) brings ten years of expertise in financial and administrative roles through her work with small businesses and non-profit organizations. After three years of working with Habitat for Humanity, Diane was ready for something new. She draws comparisons between the EDC and Habitat for Humanity when it comes to vital issues such as workforce housing and how it relates to the economic growth of a region.
Diane states, “The transition to the EDC has been quite natural because in many ways they’re both working on similar issues… I appreciate the EDC’s leadership role in tackling the housing issue as it relates to economic development and the refreshing approach in coalition building to pull in stakeholders and gain traction on this critical issue. It’s important to me that I invest my strong work ethic into roles that can have a positive impact on my community.”
Diane has a deep affection for this region and wants to see it remain vital and accessible. She and her husband met in the Adirondacks through their shared love of the outdoors. “It’s hard not to appreciate how lucky we are to live so close to the Adirondacks and the Lake George Region. Almost any outdoor recreation activity that you can think of is a short drive or bike ride away – and most of it is free . On the other hand, we also benefit from the population density to sustain wonderful resources like Crandall Public Library or programs like the Adirondack Youth Hockey Association”.
“When we met Diane and learned about her passions and talents, it was clear we had a winner for our Director of Finance and Compliance,” says Jim Siplon, CEO and President of EDC. “She’s bringing much more than financial expertise to the table and we are already enjoying her contributions to our team.”
