The EDC is looking forward to convening builders and developers in two workshops this month to provide information on various incentives available for residential construction and rehabilitation. As part of our mission to grow our workforce, we’re thrilled to be facilitating these workshops on housing, a key resource needed to achieve this larger goal.

The first workshop will be held on Tuesday, May 14 at 10:30am and will focus on Warren and Washington County IDA Tax Incentives as well as the Warren County Housing Study. Chuck Barton, CEO of the WWIDA and Ethan Gaddy, Warren County Planner, will be on-hand to share information and answer questions.

The second workshop, to be held on Tuesday, May 21 at 3:30pm, will focus on Funding Programs from the NYS Division of Homes & Community Renewal, including the Community Investment Fund, Small Building Participation Loan Program, and the Affordable Homeownership Opportunity Program. Madeline Fletcher and Darren Scott from HCR will be present to explain and engage in discussion on these programs, which are briefly detailed below.

Community Investment Fund: New construction, adaptive reuse, or rehabilitation of multi-family rental housing and mixed-use projects

Small Building Participation Loan Program: Gap project assistance for acquisition, capital costs and related soft costs associated with the preservation and improvement of rental properties

Affordable Homeownership Opportunity Program: Funding to encourage the creation of homeownership projects that will create opportunities for first-time homebuyers

Both workshops will be held at the EDC Office – 11 South Street, Suite 201, Glens Falls, NY – and light refreshments will be served. This is an informal event – no RSVP is necessary, drop-ins are welcome, come as you are! We hope to see you there!
