EDC Warren County proudly joins the City of Glens Falls to celebrate the grand opening of the Market & Event Center—a project years in the making and rooted in the vision of the late Ed Bartholomew, former Mayor and longtime President of EDC. Ed led the charge to secure a $10 million DRI award from Empire State Development (ESD) in 2016 and helped shape the plan to transform South Street into a vibrant cultural and commercial corridor.

EDC President Jim Siplon, who served on the original DRI Steering Committee, was on hand today to honor that legacy. “Ed saw what was possible here long before ground was broken,” said Siplon. “Today, we see his vision come to life.”EDC recognizes the leadership of former Mayors Jack Diamond and Dan Hall, and congratulates Mayor Bill Collins and the Glens Falls City Council (past & present) for seeing this project through to the finish line.A big thank-you to Arrow Financial Corporation, whose $20 million investment in a new corporate headquarters on South Street helped catalyze the broader revitalization, and whose support also helped bring the Market Center to life. This space is now open to serve as a gathering place for events, markets, and the community. We are proud to celebrate this milestone with all who made it possible. Photo courtesy The Post Star
