The historic hamlet of North Creek is experiencing a wave of new investment totaling tens of millions of dollars, driven by tourism, infrastructure, and hospitality:
The Phoenix Inn (formerly Copperfield Inn) is being renovated into a boutique resort with health & wellness amenities by Weekender Hotels — a $3.5M+ investment, supported by a supplemental loan from the Warren County Local Development Corp. and supported by EDC.
✔️ The North Creek Ski Bowl Lodge, a $40M project led by ORDA, is nearing completion — with a year-round restaurant, patios, and slope-side views. A new zip coaster arrives in 2026.
✔️ A $7.6M public sewer project, backed by state and federal funding, is finally underway — replacing aging septic systems and opening the door for future commercial growth. EDC played a key role in making this long-awaited project a reality.
✔️ And there’s opportunity ahead: the iconic Basil & Wick’s property, a popular destination near Gore Mountain, is now for sale — a turnkey restaurant ready for new ownership and fresh ideas.
These projects show how public investment, infrastructure upgrades, and private sector vision can transform even the smallest communities. EDC is proud to support this momentum in Johnsburg and help fuel the continued success of the Gore Mountain region.
Special thanks to our partners at the Warren Washington Counties IDA and other local agencies who are helping bring this investment to life.
