Thank you to the 200 business, community, government and nonprofit leaders who registered and joined us yesterday at the Fort William Henry Carriage House for EDC Warren County’s Annual Luncheon.
A special thank you to our speakers, Patience Fairbrother Wallace, David Duggal, and Phil Casabona, for sharing their perspectives, experiences and ideas, and helping us look at the opportunities ahead for Warren County and the greater Adirondack region.
Their conversations reflected something central to EDC’s work. Economic development today reaches well beyond traditional definitions. It includes entrepreneurship and innovation, arts and culture, quality of place, talent attraction, and creating communities where people and businesses want to invest and grow.
We were especially pleased to welcome student representatives and a chaperone from every school district in Warren County. If we are talking about the future of our region, it is important that the next generation has a seat in the room. Connecting our young people with local business and community leaders, and exposing them to the opportunities being created here, is an important part of building that future.
And, of course, none of this happens without our sponsors, members, Board of Directors and partners. Your support allows EDC to work every day across the region, from our downtowns and tourism economy to housing, infrastructure, entrepreneurship, advanced industries and the businesses that create jobs and opportunity here.
200 people gathered in one room today. Different industries, communities, generations and perspectives, but a shared interest in the future of this region.
That is what economic development is ultimately about. Bringing people together, building partnerships and turning ideas into action.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, supported the event and continues to support the work of EDC Warren County.
