The charming city streets of Glens Falls are beginning to get their holiday look together, and shops across the county are stocking their shelves for holiday shoppers.

Holiday decorations are now in place in Downtown Glens Falls, and everyone is making preparations for the upcoming season.

The Queensbury Hotel is planning outdoor igloos for a new dining experience, and is forging ahead with plans for a new conference center. The Center for Disability Services is hosting the Festival of Trees in a modified version this year. Click here to learn more.

A Holiday Festival of Lights is planned in Lake George’s Charles R. Wood Park by Events To A T.

While the pandemic has changed plans for the Glens Falls Collaborative, which typically holds a large downtown holiday celebration, there will still be family-friendly festivities:

  • A mailbox for letters to Santa
  • A virtual tree lighting
  • A holiday house and downtown window decorating contest
  • Santa will ride in a fire truck down many of Glens Falls’ neighborhood streets, bringing holiday cheer to those young and old

Details on these events are to be announced soon on the Downtown Glens Falls Facebook Page.

Also, The Wood Theater is offering Zoom calls with Santa Claus, and craft kits for children to do alongside live instruction from a ice princess, and LARAC is planning a December 17 holiday party in their annual holiday shop which features handmade gifts and artwork.

Glens Falls’ Downtown Decorations are sponsored by the Glens Falls Business Improvement District.
