Man on CDPHP BicycleWarren County joins the Capital District’s CDPHP Cycle! bikeshare program, now with bikes available at stations located in Downtown Glens Falls at City Hall, at Glens Falls Hospital, Country Club Road in Queensbury and on Beach Road in Lake George. Each station has five bikes.

Other cities with a fleet of CDPHP Cycle! bikes include Saratoga Springs, Albany, Cohoes, Schenectady and Troy. CDPHP Cycle! is a “hub-less” system, which allows members to lock the bikes to any bike rack or fixed public object, in addition to a CDPHP Cycle!-specific rack within the system boundaries. The CDPHP Cycle! riding season runs from April 1 to November 30.

Register for a bike by downloading the mobile app or visiting www.cdphpcycle.com. Rates are $5 per hour, $15 per month, or $85 for a season pass, and students can ride at a 50% discount. Then enter your account number and PIN into the keypad on the bike which will unlock it. You can lock your bike to any fixed, public object, or return it to any station. They’re equipped with a basket, kickstand, and hand sanitizer.

“We were optimistic, but we were pleasantly surprised that just in six or seven months we were able to get this going here,” said Liza Ochsendorf, Director of Warren County Employment and Training Administration. “And it’s definitely because of all of these partnerships and the collaboration. And now it’s finally a reality in Glens Falls, Queensbury, and Lake George, as of today! It’s been a dream of many for so long, and now it’s finally now here. This is just another shining example of how our community is so collaborative. It is the private and public sector that came together to make this happen.”

“This program will benefit our workforce and businesses,” she added at the press conference. “As we know, transportation continues to be one of the biggest barriers to employment, and they’ve seen in many of the places south of us, a lot of people ride these bikes to work, and we want people to do that here in Warren County as well. But these bikes will also benefit our residents, our college students, and our tourists. Bikeshare is an affordable transportation and recreation option, it’s a flexible transportation and recreation option, and it’s a viable transportation and recreation option.”

The program is offered in partnership with CDTA (the Capital District Transportation Authority), CDPHP, and Social Bicycles, with support from sponsors including the Glens Falls BID, Sprinkles Ice Cream, Greater Glens Falls Transit, the Queensbury Hotel, Fort William Henry, Adirondack Cycling Advocates, Hudson Headwaters Health Network, Warren County, the City of Glens Falls, the Town of Queensbury and the Town of Lake George.
