A record-setting year for New York’s Olympic venues is great news for the Adirondacks, especially for our communities here in Warren County.

A record-setting year for New York’s Olympic venues is more than a headline, it’s a clear signal of the strength and resilience of the Adirondack economy.
As highlighted in a recent announcement from Governor Kathy Hochul, visitation across New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority venues surpassed 1.2 million. At the center of that success is Gore Mountain, which recorded an all-time high of more than 261,000 skier visits this past season.
That performance is no accident. It reflects sustained, strategic investment in the mountain and the surrounding community:
• A new Ski Bowl lodge and year-round base area designed to anchor activity in North Creek
• Lift upgrades, including replacement of aging infrastructure with higher-capacity quad lifts
• Expanded and modernized snowmaking systems to improve reliability, efficiency, and season length
• New parking and access improvements to handle peak demand
• A growing slate of four-season attractions, including a planned zip coaster and expanded summer offerings
Together, these investments are transforming Gore into a true four-season destination and reinforcing its role as a major economic engine for the Upper Hudson region.
EDC sees this momentum firsthand in North Creek and across the corridor. Our work to advance housing, infrastructure, workforce development, and year-round economic activity is directly aligned with this trajectory. When Gore succeeds, the entire regional economy moves with it.
