This honor reflects not only Sasha’s entrepreneurial vision and leadership at Adirondack Winery, but also her tremendous impact on our regional economy.
What began as a small tasting room in Lake George has grown into a destination business that welcomes thousands of visitors each year, supports local jobs, and helps strengthen Warren County’s reputation as a premier tourism and hospitality destination.
Sasha’s influence extends well beyond the winery itself. As founder of the Adirondack Wine & Food Festival, now celebrating its 10th anniversary, she has created one of the region’s signature events. Last year’s festival generated an estimated $3.6 million in economic impact while bringing visitors from across New York and beyond to experience Lake George, support local businesses, and discover all that our region has to offer.
The Adirondack Wine & Food Festival is also a perfect example of the Experience Economy in action. Visitors don’t just purchase products. They come for experiences, memories, and connections, creating economic benefits that ripple throughout the region’s lodging, dining, retail, recreation, and hospitality sectors.
As we look ahead to this month’s festival on June 27th & 28th, we are reminded that successful destinations are built by people willing to innovate, collaborate, and create memorable experiences. Sasha has done exactly that.
At EDC Warren County, we often speak about the importance of balancing our Experience Economy, Community Services Economy, and Productive Economy. Leaders like Sasha demonstrate how entrepreneurship, hospitality, and community investment can strengthen all three.
