The latest announcement from Olympic Regional Development Authority and Gore Mountain highlights continued investment in expanding summer and fall operations in North Creek, including new attractions, expanded programming, scenic skyrides, hiking and biking access, and stronger integration between the Ski Bowl and downtown businesses.
For EDC Warren County, this aligns closely with the long-term strategy we have been advancing alongside regional and local partners:
• Strengthening year-round tourism and outdoor recreation economies
• Supporting downtown revitalization and placemaking
• Expanding infrastructure and connectivity investments
• Encouraging longer visitor stays and greater local spending
• Supporting small business growth and entrepreneurship
• Advancing workforce and housing discussions tied to tourism growth
• Positioning North Creek as a strategic connector between the Capital Region, Lake George, and the High Peaks
The growing connection between Gore Mountain, the Ski Bowl, and downtown North Creek represents more than tourism development. It reflects a broader shift toward destination-based economic development where recreation, infrastructure, business investment, housing, and community vitality increasingly work together.
EDC has been actively engaged in a wide range of initiatives supporting this momentum, including Opportunity Zone advocacy, infrastructure planning, broadband and connectivity discussions, downtown revitalization efforts, and coordination around long-term economic growth opportunities in the North Creek region.
This announcement also builds on the strong momentum generated by Gore Mountain’s recent record winter visitation season and continued statewide growth across ORDA facilities.
Congratulations to the entire Gore Mountain and ORDA team, including ORDA CEO and EDC board member Ashley Walden, on continuing to strengthen North Creek’s role within the Adirondack economy and advancing the future of year-round recreation in Warren County.
