Freshwater innovation is emerging as one of the Adirondack region’s most important economic opportunities

For more than a decade, Lake George has served as a living laboratory where science, technology, and environmental stewardship intersect. World-class efforts such as the Jefferson Project and the Darrin Fresh Water Institute have helped establish this region as a global leader in freshwater science, environmental monitoring, and applied research.
Today, regional leaders, researchers, and private-sector partners are advancing a new initiative to build on that foundation. This effort is not about a building. It is about convening innovators, entrepreneurs, and investors. Translating scientific leadership into real-world applications. And ensuring the Adirondack region captures the economic value of the knowledge and innovation already taking place here.
Global demand for freshwater protection technologies is accelerating. Regions that recognize and mobilize around their unique advantages can help shape entirely new industry clusters. The Adirondack region is uniquely positioned to lead.
